the women of Blessed Nest

Donna and I have been friends for so many years; I can hardly remember not knowing her. I would be a very different woman without her strength, inspiration and friendship. There is something really special about the women in your life who go through seasons with you... I made her wedding dress in a hotel room in Detroit (that's a funny story for another time!) and she served food at my wedding. We have faced many of life's challenges together with friendship and faith, which have served us very well so far.
After giving birth to her first daughter, Donna came to me needing help. She was so determined to breastfeed, but the combination of a very active and wiggly baby, a painful cesarean incision and feeling as if her own body was working against her, she just couldn't find the physical support she needed. Stacks of pillows wouldn't stay in place, one popular nursing pillow had to be strapped on and the other one wouldn't fit around her without causing more problems than it solved. And the thing that all of those pillows had in common was that they just made her feel awkward and frustrated rather than the confident, nurturing mom we both knew she was.
Since I wasn't a "nursing pillow designer", I could just listen to what she needed from the perspective of a friend and then draw from my own skills and experience to design a solution. What I came up with was the Nesting Pillow, and Donna knew from her 15+ pre-mom years in the children's clothing industry how to help me take it to the world! Since then, she's given me the support I needed to build Blessed Nest into what we are today; a company that was founded in friendship, love and motherhood.
We nurture moms so YOU can nurture your babies with peace of mind!
